Tokyo Disneyland Hotel Overview

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel sits near the front entrance of the Tokyo Disneyland theme park. Its luxurious guest rooms have a Victorian theme, similar to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort in Walt Disney World. Walking time to Tokyo Disneyland is about 10 minutes. The Tokyo Disney Resort Line - Tokyo Disneyland Station (aka the monorail), is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The Tokyo Disney Resort Line offers transportation to Tokyo DisneySea, Ikspiari and the JR Maihama Station (where you can catch a train to the city), and Bayside Station (where all non-Disney on-site hotels are located).

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel also consists of a landscaped plaza with Disney character topiaries, a swimming complex, restaurants, and shops.

Rack rates for Tokyo Disneyland Hotel range from around $350 USD to $500 USD for a view of the surrounding city, to more than $700 USD for a theme park view. Themed rooms are also available. Rooms themed after Tinker Bell, Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella are can be booked starting usually starting at $500 USD, and go all the way to over $1000 USD per a night.

The official Tokyo Disney Resort hotels can be booked on the Tokyo Disney Resort Online Reservation & Tickets website, which is in full English. Please note that the official TDR hotels sell out extremely fast, sometimes as soon as the reservation window opens, which is 9 AM (JST), five months before your arrival date. When your reservation window opens, be ready and waiting at your computer.

For some strange reason, Tokyo Disney Resort's website only accepts MasterCard and American Express for payment. This means that you cannot use TDR's website to purchase tickets or make a hotel reservation if you have a Visa card. This is not the case for in-person transactions: you can use most foreign credit cards with no problem while you are in Tokyo Disney Resort.

Early Entry for Tokyo Disneyland Hotel Guests

Guests at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel can enjoy a perk called "Happy Entry." This allows hotel guests to enter Tokyo Disneyland 15 minutes early. Not all attractions are open during this time, but it allows you to skip the massive lines that form outside the parks before they open for the day. It will also let you get a huge head start to your first destination. If you want to ride Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast with little to no wait, Happy Entry will give you a perfect chance to do so.

Other Tokyo Disneyland Hotel Guest Perks

Guests staying at any of the official Tokyo Disney Resort hotels are given free tickets to use the Disney Resort Line that are valid for the length of their stay. Hotel guests are also guaranteed entry to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, even on days when the parks are extremely busy and attendance is restricted.

Where To Check-In, Get Theme Park Tickets, and Make Dining Reservations

Check-in time at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is 3:00 PM, and check-out time is 11:00 AM. If you're from outside of Japan, you'll need to provide your passport and credit/debit card when you register.

If you haven't purchased your theme park tickets yet, you may do so at the Concierge Desk. The Concierge Desk can also make dining reservations. Tokyo Disneyland Hotel's Rooms

Standard Tokyo Disneyland Hotel rooms feature an elegant Victorian look. Room amenities include HDTV, mini-refrigerators, hot water pot (with instant coffee and tea), safes large enough for laptops, and wireless Internet connections. In your room's bathroom, you'll find shampoo, soap, and conditioner in nicely themed bottles that you're allowed to keep after you check out, as well as a toiletry accessory kit containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair comb, cotton swabs, and more. The nightstand between the two beds has a telephone and alarm clock. Rooms also contain a closet with hangers, an iron with ironing board, and enough room to store a few pieces of luggage.

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel bathrooms are made up of three parts, each of which is separated by doors that lock. To the left is a shower room with a bathtub and both fixed and removable shower heads. The center is a sink area with a mirror, one sink, and limited counter space. To the right is a small room with a toilet. The toilet is a luxurious Japanese bidet that features heated seats and a stream of warm water to clean your rear end. If you don't wish to use any of these extra bidet features, simply flush it with the lever attached to the toilet itself. If you do want to try out the bidet, it's controlled by a panel with buttons.

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel Room Types

Tokyo Disney Resort categorizes all of Tokyo Disneyland Hotel's rooms based on the configuration of the room and what you see from inside the room.

Here's the system Disney uses:

• A Superior Room includes a full-sized bed and a trundle bed that can be stored under one of the other beds when not in use, or two full-sized beds and a trundle bed. Rooms may look out on to a parking lot or one of the neighborhoods next to the Tokyo Disney Resort. Disney labels Superior Rooms that face the park as "Superior Room Park View." These rooms offer magnificent views of Tokyo Disneyland and Cinderella Castle. Concierge rooms are also available in this category.
• Character Rooms are themed to beloved Disney animated movies and characters. Rooms include, Beauty and the Beast, Tinker Bell, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella. For example, the Beauty and the Beast room depicts the inside of Beast's castle, while Alice in Wonderland rooms feature whimsical details inspired by the Queen of Hearts and other residents of Wonderland.
• A Deluxe Room Corner Room (that's not a typo, Disney actually calls it that) offers the same amenities as a Superior Room, but is more spacious thanks to a sitting room with a couch and chairs. This category also includes "Standard Corner Room Park View" which offers views of the Tokyo Disneyland.
• A Family Room offers more regular beds, as well as a living room area separated by a door. "Standard Junior Family Rooms" contain three regular full beds, and a fourth trundle bed. "Standard Family Rooms" have two regular full beds, two alcove beds that are recessed in to the wall, and two separate bathrooms. Standard Family Rooms are the only types of rooms at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel where up to 5 guests can stay (the usual limit is 4).
• Suites are available for those wanting the most lavish accommodations Tokyo Disney Resort can offer. They're ornately decorated, offer the best views of Cinderella Castle and Tokyo Disneyland, and start at a whopping $5000 USD per a night. Suites are limited to 1 to 3 guests.

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel Pool

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel's Misty Mountains Pool is only offered during summer months, usually around mid-July to late-August. The following pool rules are strictly enforced, especially the rule about covering tattoos:

• Guests with tattoos are requested to cover their tattoos with a rash guard or other garment.
• Kids ages 11 and under must be accompanied by a guardian at least 16 years of age. The guardian must supervise the children, but is not required to be in the water with them.
• Inflatable tubes and other pool toys are not allowed. Complimentary arm floats are provided.
• No food or beverages into the pool facilities.
• Smoking is not allowed in the pool area.

Restaurants and Dining at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel has two full-service restaurants, and one lounge. If none of these establishments meet your needs you can take about a 15 minute walk to Ikspari and eat at any one of its restaurants of varying quality and price range.

Sherwood Garden Restaurant

Sherwood Garden is a buffet with views of a Victorian garden. The buffet serves everything from meat dishes, noodles, curry, fish, salads, fresh fruit, and more. There’s also a large variety of delicious desserts. Even though the price is around ¥3000 per a person, you’re getting a great bang for your buck here because the buffet is all you can eat. Besides your stomach, the only other limit is time. Each party is given 90 minutes to finish their meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available.

CANNA

CANNA has a contemporary/flowery/modern art interior. We found the menu to be surprisingly sophisticated with items like Grilled Beef Cheek, and Sauteed Golden Thread with Shiitake and Kuji Scallion Broth. It's pricey (around $40 to $60 USD per a plate) but CANNA is perfect if you're looking for a fine dining experience.

Dreamers Lounge

Dreamers Lounge is located inside Tokyo Disneyland Hotel's beautiful lobby. Here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Shopping at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel

Tokyo Disneyland Hotel's gift shop is Disney Mercantile and sits just off the lobby. As you'd expect from a Disney gift shop, Disney Mercantile has a decent collection of souvenirs ranging from small trinkets such as keychains and pens, to shirts and Disney princess items. Prices for these items are what you'd pay in the theme parks. Disney Mercantile also offers the mega popular Tokyo Disney-branded cookies, chocolate, coffee tins, and similar items.

Looking Glass Gifts sells snacks, drinks, and basic pharmacy items such as aspirin, cold medicine, baby diapers and formula, shampoo, and the like. Looking Glass Gifts is a good place to grab some quick snacks, or to buy some items you may have forgotten at home.
