    Big Thunder Mountain

Description And Comments

A roller coaster disguised as a runaway mine train. Although Big Thunder is a roller coaster, it's not as thrilling/terrifying as a coaster at your local amusement park. In our opinion it's bit more tame than even Space Mountain. The ride showcases some first-rate examples of Disney creativity: lifelike scenes depicting a mining settlement, colorful caverns, and a dynamite-chewing goat, all humorously animated.

Touring Tips

A superb Disney experience, but not too wild a roller coaster. The emphasis here is much more on the sights than on the thrill of the ride itself. Regardless, it's a not-to-be-missed attraction. This attraction can grow quite a line as the day progresses, we recommend riding this first thing in the morning or right before the park closes. Finally, if you have time, ride Big Thunder during the day and then again after dark. The lighting gives the attraction a whole new feel.

How's It Different From the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Versions?

If you've ridden Big Thunder at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, you know that they are similar rides in look and feel, but different in terms of the actual roller coaster part of the equation. Tokyo Disneyland's Big Thunder is the same in this way. It's different enough that we recommend giving it a try even if you've ridden the rails many times in America.

Is it English Friendly?

Besides the rides safety spiels, there is no language of any kind spoken during the ride or queue.
