Park: EPCOT

  • January 12 to February 19, 2024

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts fills the gap between the holidays and the Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT. This event highlights the artistic endeavors of Disney from painting to food to music.

Festival of the Arts debuted in 2017 as a modest event running weekends only. Friend of the site, Jim Hill, tells us the original Festival was put together in a manner of weeks. Now it's a full-blown EPCOT festival with booths, shows, and interactive art displays.

Pick up a Festival guide at the park entrance or in kiosks around the festival. Guests can begin their visit at the Festival Center at the Odyssey - the building between Test Track and the Mexico pavilion. The featured display is the history of Disney attractions posters.

This festival includes activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family, like Figment's Brush with the Masters in World Showcase. (You may or may not choose to buy the souvenir map which can be traded for a festival pin when each painting is marked off.) There are also photo ops that allow guests to pose within famous paintings. Our favorite is The Scream, though Washington Crossing the Delaware gets points for context outside the American pavilion.

Shoppers will find many opportunities to increase their collections of Disney art. Wonderland Gallery and Pop Gallery from Disney Springs have pop-up shops, plus favorites like Noah Fine Art, Thomas Kinkade, and Acme Studios. Of course there is plenty of Festival merchandise, from mugs to t-shirts to posters to purchase too. Passholders and DVC members should ask about merchandise discounts.

At the America Gardens Theatre, regular performances of popular Disney broadway hits are sung by actual Broadway talent. Selections from The Lion King, Aladdin, and Newsies are among the many scores that can be heard. There are also showcases of local talent in both choral and marching band forms.

Naturally it wouldn't be a festival at EPCOT without food booths. The Food Studios create delicious appetizers that are works of art themselves.
